Anchorage is the most bustling city in Alaska, and home to one of the most diverse populations in United States. With lively bars, delicious restaurants, and laid back breweries there is always somewhere fun to go out with friends to. The city has an abundance of parks and trails and also easy access to explore our immense mountains by foot, bike, raft, or skis. Anchorage is the center of South Central Alaska, which makes it easy to explore both north to the Valley and south to the Kenai Peninsula.
Anchorage offers the perfect balance between city life and outdoor adventure. Get a mix of both by riding the Coastal Trail along the water to the hustle and bustle of downtown. Downtown, you can find great shops, delicious restaurants, arts, and entertainment. First Friday art walks are always fun, and be sure to stop into the Anchorage Museum while you are at it. The city shines during the celebration of annual events, especially on Summer Solstice and our jovial Fur Rondy festival.
There are many parks throughout Anchorage with many miles of mountain biking and cross country ski trails. It takes only about 15 minutes from anywhere in town to find yourself in the Chugach mountains to explore to your heart's content.
